Since World Snake Day is coming closer and it'll take me a bit to finish up the supporting serpentine cast, I’m just going to hand you my main snake boy.
His info is down below. (Template was borrowed from here)
Name: Vasuki Nicknames: Vasu, V, Suki Age: 18 (Rise of the Snakes) Gender: Male Race: Serpentine (Hypnobrai-Anacondrai) Appearance: He is a hybrid between a Hypnobrai and Anacondrai. Mostly he inherited his Hypnobrai father’s traits, looking more like an anthropomorphic cobra with blue scales, red eyes, and a rattle. However he inherited some of his mother’s Anacondrai features as well with having a purple dipstick fading on the end of his tail, darker, more black markings down his back, and a gem on top of his head. He has a yellow chest and torso with silver outlining it. He wears a exomis that he received when he joined the Serpentine Rebellion.
Height: 6’3” (190.5 cm) Weight: 180 lbs. Hair style: None Hair Color: None Eye Color: Ruby red Skin Tone: Mainly blue with purple fading on his tail
Weapon of choice: Spear and Shield, Sword Element/Essence: None Abilities: Anacondrai Invisibility/Camouflage, Enhanced Strength, Speed, Durability, Prehensile Tail, Taekwondo/Fang-kwan-do
Personality: He is independent, honest, loyal, steady, reliable, persistent, courageous, diligent, adaptable, trustworthy, and insightful. While his father would rather have things easy, he knows the easy way isn’t the right way. He also shows a sense of defiance and hates injustice. Those two things play into motion when he found the Anacondrai Tomb and he figured out what had happened to his mother, Belladonna. Occupation: Warrior Affiliations: Hypnobrai (formerly), The Serpentine Rebellion and Artaxerxes (currently), The Ninja — associated by Katherina (currently) Hometown: Glacier Barrens
Status: Alive
Bio: Sometime when the Serpentine War was slowing down, Slithraa and Belladonna had conceived a nest of eggs together in the wilderness. When trouble began to rise again and this time, a third party had come in and began attacking young on both sides, the two were forced to hide their eggs in the Anacondrai tomb. Belladonna however convinced Slithraa keep one because she had a bad feeling something was going to happen (something did) and so he did. Vasuki’s young half siblings knocked him out of the nest and Slithraa had caught him just in time for him to hatch. Slithraa gave him the name Vasuki in honor of what Belladonna wanted to name him. Vasuki then grew up in the Hypnobrai Tomb of the Glacier Barrens, learning to be a Warrior among the ranks but yearning to get out of the tomb much like the others, if not more. He had no idea why, but he felt something was missing and that something was too far away to hold. One day a distraught boy would open the tomb and Vasuki would watch his father being hypnotized. The child didn’t know what to do with him but he watched as Skales move his plan into action. He didn’t like the manipulation put on the boy but he also had a chance to see the outside and to quell this feeling of missing something, so he went out with them.
Relationships: Slithraa: He does have a decent relationship with his father. He’s loyal to him, even after he lost his General title. He was the one who told him what happened in the Anacondrai Tomb and gave all the proof he could to him. At first it seemed like Slithraa didn’t listen to him, especially when Vasuki attempted to harm Pythor himself (while the Ninja were getting someone out of imprisonment), but later on when the Serpentine divided Slithraa joined Vasuki, defying Skales’ command to follow him, and eventually beating Pythor himself.
Pythor: At first it didn’t feel right to follow him, but when he learned the truth of what happened to his mother, he grew to despise Pythor for all he did, putting others in harms way and worse, cannibalizing his tribe to live on. He loathed his rule and one day wanted to take him out himself. However that led to his banishment.
Artaxerxes: The Basilisk Prince and leader of the budding Serpentine Rebellion had found him within Ninjago City’s limits. Artaxerxes allowed him to stay with them and with the growing group, they’d overthrow Pythor and his followers.
Katherina: Little did the snake know, this Kunoichi of Darkness would actually be tied into his life forever. She stuck up for him when the other Ninja mistook the Rebellion’s camp for another Serpentine camp when she returned to them with another recruit. He had been loyal to her since and stuck by her side through the battle against Pythor’s followers during and after Day of the Devourer. She even helped rebuild the City of Ouroboros before the Stone Army happened. More adventures awaited her and he was encouraged to follow, feeling like he couldn’t let her go like before, even if that feeling didn’t make sense to him for a time. He’d come to find out later why that was.
Fun Facts: - Despite looking like a Hypnobrai, he is still a hybrid, meaning that while he got his mother’s invisibility, he cannot truly ever achieve his father’s hypnotism. If he does hypnotize someone, it’s mostly using someone else’s eyes and his own words to do so. - His original name was “Slithers” when he was still a concept, meant to be a play on words for “Slithraa.” However when art of him began coming out, his name changed to Vasuki. - “Vasuki” is a name of a naga in Hindu Mythology. He is a king who has a gem on his forehead. - The exomis he wears resembles much like the Hypaspists of the Macedonian infantry would wear and he carries a spear and shield like Hoplites and even has a sword sheathed to his side.

I hope others enjoy this list as much as I enjoyed compiling it. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time (probably the thing that interests me most about horror films is their historical significance, and influence on/reflection of our ever-changing society), and I’m glad I finally got it done. I only wish I could have provided more links! Also, once again, I urge anyone interested in black horror cinema to visit BlackHorrorMovies.com. You’ll find lots of other films besides the ones on this list.
If the trends I noticed while putting this list together continue, we’re likely to see a massive increase in horror films written and directed by black filmmakers in the near future! 🤞
In case you missed it, don't forget to check out:

✳ Scenario Request Rules ✳
✳ Request Status: Open 🔓 / Closed 🔒
If you’re looking for the Headcannon rules, please click HERE.
Last Updated: 11/07/2021
✳ Rules & Information:
I only write reader-insert fiction. Details like skin color, hair color, eye color, etc. will be left out of your request. However, you can ask for a fic that mentions weight, height, hobbies, etc.
You can send your own prompt or choose from one of the open sets! It is possible that I may not have updated the set list in time and if so, I will kindly ask that you choose another prompt.
Please send only one request at a time. After your request has been fulfilled, you may request again.
Choose only fandoms and characters from the open fandom list below.
As a straight woman, I find it hard to write romance with other females, but I’ll still try. It may be quite cringe, though! It’s possible that I’ve forgotten characters or might be willing to try writing for a character, so feel free to include them along with a failsafe character (one I’ve listed) and I’ll see what I can do!
Please be patient. If I try to force myself to write, I simply can’t seem to. While I’ll try to get to your request in a timely manner, be warned that it may take a while before I’m able to write anything worthwhile.
I will not write about rape, sexual abuse, racism, incest, politics or religion. If you want to request a fic about the reader having been raped in the past, I will allow that, but I won’t write about the rape itself or put too much detail.
Any theme is fine and if you don’t specify, I will choose for you based on whatever prompt you’ve chosen and it will most likely be angst with fluff or just fluff. No NSFW.

G1 Climax 30 Night 3 - 9/23/2020; RIP Road Warrior Animal (9/12/1960 - 9/23/2020); Finlay v. Romero in ROH Pure Tournament; Fredericks on Last Night’s Prime Time Live
G1 Climax 30 resumed today, with A Block matches live from Hokkaido. You can see it now on NJPWWorld.
- 9/23/2020, Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center Hokkai Kitayell
Gabriel Kidd d. Yuya Uemura (Double-Arm Suplex, 7:21)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Jeff Cobb [FREE] d. Shingo Takagi [Los Ingobernables] (Tour Of The Islands, 11:44)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Kazuchika Okada [CHAOS] d. Yujiro Takahashi [Bullet Club] (Money Clip, 12:01)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Taichi [SZKG] d. Minoru Suzuki [SZKG] (Black Mephisto, 12:11)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Will Ospreay [CHAOS] d. Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS] (Stormbreaker, 18:20)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Jay White [Bullet Club] d. Kota Ibushi (Blade Runner, 20:28)
Switchblade is now 2-0 against Kota Ibushi since Ibushi bested him at the G1 Climax 29 Final last year. Naturally, he declared he will win G1. And he might! Ospreay will not win G1, but is on a streak anyway, because NJPW are high on him and don’t care if he got a woman blackballed from the industry.
Taichi had a very good homecoming to Hokkaido for once, getting the win over his Boss. NJPW are now calling Okada’s Cobra Clutch the “Money Clip.” And still trying to make it a Thing. Shingo is 0-2 so far, but that means he’ll be assured a good late run. Gabriel Kidd gets his first ever singles win in NJPW!
Current A Block standings:
Ospreay: 4pts (2W 0D 0L) Taichi: 4pts (2W 0D 0L) White: 4pts (2W 0D 0L) Cobb: 2pts (1W 0D 1L) Ibushi: 2pts (1W 0D 1L) Okada: 2pts (1W 0D 1L) Suzuki: 2pts (1W 0D 1L) Ishii: 0pts (0W 0D 2L) Takagi: 0pts (0W 0D 2L) Yujiro: 0pts (0W 0D 2L)
(L-R: Road Warrior Hawk [Michael Hegstrand], Road Warrior Animal [Joseph Laurinaitis], Power Warrior [Kensuke Sasaki])
Just as I was getting ready to start writing this post, it was reported that Road Warrior Animal (Joseph Laurinaitis) had passed away at the age of 60. The Road Warriors are, of course, one of the most famous and well-regarded tag teams of all time in the wrestling business, and Japan were a huge part of their stomping grounds, although in terms of number of matches, they were more known in All Japan Pro Wrestling than NJPW. The majority of Animal’s matches in NJPW came in 1996, when the Road Warriors were still with WCW, and some of those were in tandem with Kensuke Sasaki in his Power Warrior persona (long story). Nevertheless, the Road Warriors were huge in Japan, working in AJPW, NJPW, Tenryu’s WAR promotion, and even Riki Choshu’s ill-fated Fighting of World Japan Pro Wrestling company in 2003. (Road Warrior Hawk, Michael Hegstrand, would die later in 2003.) Animal even wrestled a select number of matches in Battlarts in 1998 and 2000.
Animal’s brother John is pretty well-known in the wrestling biz, having not only been an executive, both on-screen and off-, for WWE, but also as Johnny Ace, most notably in AJPW, where at one time he had a very well-regarded tag team with Kenta Kobashi, among others. His son James played college football at Ohio State University, as well as an 8-year NFL career, mostly at the then-St. Louis Rams, before retiring after a season at the New Orleans Saints in 2017.
Regardless, there’s nothing I can write that will adequately say what Animal, and the Road Warriors, meant to pro wrestling. Our thoughts and condolences to his loved ones and close friends.
While left out of G1 Climax selection yet again, David Finlay Jr. is keeping himself busy, competing in Ring of Honor’s Pure Tournament. This is the revival of ROH’s former Pure Championship, which was unified and abandoned with the ROH World Title back in 2008 in a classic (but ultimately costly, for the competitors involved) match between Brian Danielson v. Nigel McGuinness.
Finlay’s opponent for this round was Rocky Romero, who he would defeat. This match is on the current episode of ROH TV, but I’m not even sure which Sinclair Broadcasting sub-network it’s on nowadays (Comet? Charge!? It’s not on YouTube in full). We’ll see how far he gets in this. I can’t imagine he’s happy working ROH again tho.
In other news, the LA Dojo’s Karl Fredericks appeared last night on the United Wrestling Network’s iPPV event Prime Time Live #2, shown on FITE TV for $7.99. This concept is through United Wrestling Network, Billy Corgan’s National Wrestling Alliance and Thunder Studios, being run out of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, a weekly PPV concept. I hesitate to remind that this is how TNA/Impact started.
Fredericks defeated Slice Boogie in the semi-main event of the show. Danny Limelight, late of NJPW Strong, was also on this show, losing to Kevin Martenson. The main event saw Thunder Rosa retain the NWA Women’s Championship against Priscilla Kelly, which is good as it maintains the storyline Rosa is having in AEW right now.
Tomorrow’s show also comes from Hokkaido, and features the second group of B Block matches, including one that may have some implications down the line depending on how the results go.

I want to write, like, this one story, and it's high fantasy because of course it is, and it starts with a Legal Process in front of the king, but the system is rigged so he has to judge batches of people to save time, so 4 people completely unrelated to each other are sentenced to Hard Labor because one of them started a tavern brawl the other 3 ended up in, and one of them was used as a scapegoat by his friends from the academy that were out past curfew while another one was found with "stolen property" which is actually a gift from her lover that happens to be the wife of a promiment noble family so she can't really sell her out by saying she got it from her and shit while the fourth one was, like, just there at the wrong place at the wrong time...
Except Hard Labor here in the Kingdom (To name later) is, like, adventuring duty, so they get coscripted in the Adventuring Guild (Who only gets members from convicts at this point so there is a huge racket) and will have to take quests to pay their debt to society, but all the reward money is usually all spent in Guild Fees and shit, and the loot is meager and nothing compared to the herculean efforts they must take in their quests.
Basically that's it, we make one a warrior that refuse to use anything of value in battle because she's a compulsive hoarder and wants to "save them for a better time" so she just goes in battle in cheap armor and fighting with the shit she finds at hand like a chair or a rusty sword stolen from a corpse or a whole ass tree, a mage from the Academy that was majoring in a Theoretic Field and is specialized in research and history and shit, so he is useless at combat magic but did take a elective in Card Based Summoning Magic because his grandma used to be a big shot at that back in the days so he got her deck as a inheritance except the economy in card based summoning magic is strictly P2W so his old cards have been either power creeped by stronger cards or cursed by the Curse of Nerfaram, which greatly weakens them, and since all hus gold goes into Guild Fees and there are all a series of capitalism is evil shit going on about when someone can get cards and when he's stuck with that, a "Elven" Orphan Thief raised by a Orc and Goblin Dads who found her in the woods tended by "wolves", so she now follows the heritage of her fathers while trying to connect to her own, but she's actually the daughter of the previous King and his 12th concubine, a elven necromancer who betrayed him after (INSERT REASON HERE) (It would be easy to make this about her being a sex slave but honestly that's kinda tripe let's just say she was the previous Dracolich Queen that got seduced by the king, the previous "Hero" but then she realizes she is not the only woman in his life and finds that insulting as do many other members of the Harem so one day they just run away from the guy but she has the leave her daughter in the woods because it's not safe or some shit don't know going to brainstorm later) so later she has to come to terms with her being a princess and her new powers and shit and the fourth one is just a Goblin "Cleric", which is actually a Very Short Archdemon who has taken Mortal Form to heal the innocent so that they will have the possibility to live on and one day sin out of their own volition, except they are very unsubtle about it and both Demonic and goblin healing magic, while some of the best in the world, do have the tendency to exalt the user into bombastic bouts of megalomania (The Joke "Live, Insect!" Goblin throws a supernova of healing power against someone Will happen at some point), and is actually working for the big bad into raising a army of the damned and conquer the Kingdom, but then his new friendships makes him realize that maybe Mortals aren't that bad and don't deserve to be enslaved, but then it turns out the big bad isn't actually the big bad, just a bad, for the real Bad is the King keeping the world into stalemate of dark ages of questimg just to keep his power, so they do a 180°, they gather the friends they made along the way, their debt to the Adventuring Guild extinguished by taking down the Bad, and start their own little Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain Group to dethrone the king and conquer the world.
Then Book 2 is them being the villains of the story, so to speak, for revolutionary forces of change are usually seen as villains in fantasy despite making a lot of sense, just look at the Defias and Just the Defias.
Also at some point I'm gona add a sidequest about some noble family that start with them asking to get rid of the evil ghost in their mansion but the evil ghost is the youngest daughter of one of the 2 sons the family head "got rid off" one day because she was 1) blind, 2) autistic, 3) born from him having a affair with his son's wife (Which wasn't exactly consensual if you ask me) 4) all of the above so he drops her in a well and she becomes a ghost who controlls rats and the elven thief finds out but is also dropped in the well where it turns out the girl's mother was blamed and got hanged for what happened and was actually a witch who cursed the family into becoming Werewolves thinking tbey would realize the monsters they became (They all knew and didn't stop him from doing what he did to her and then her daughter, even her husband), but then most of them now just have a excuse to blame their "wolf side" to appease their horrible human instincts and the ghost girl tells the elf all of this once she realizes the elf can see her, and she tells her her family plan to eat the elf friends' after they "got rid of the ghost" that night and the elf must do something which is when the necromantic powers start awakening in full as the ghosts of their victims, beggars and sex workers and foreigners and other people that wouldn't be missed by the "normal" folk of the nearby town controlled by the noble family, all conveniently burried across and beneath the manor, are rallied by her against their oppressors as their corpses and skeletons sprang up the floorboard amd a werewolf v zombie & ghost brawl happens.
Also a giant cobra that is actually a elder god of death is a thing. They, like, meet it at the start and kinda forget about it and in the climatic battle they do a 4 people combo of the Mage using a teleport card to bring the Necromancer Thief to a place she is thinking as she is thrown by the warrior against the big bad as they are being boosted by the Cleric, so she crashes against the big bad and teleports him in the cave where the elder god is chained and the mighty big bad goes "where did you bring me?!" as he lights a light with his impressive light magic (Head Paladin of the Guild maybe? To take credit for those who killed the devil or some shit and take the witnesses out?) which awakes the snake that swallows him whole and thanks its follower for the tasty firefly or somr shit.
Something like that.

Mistakes (Erik Killmonger x Reader)
I might make a part 2, might not. If the smut looks familiar, its because I literally combined three scenes from three of my Dramione FFs on FF.net.
Warnings: Smut
Part II Part III Part IV Part V
summary: In which King N’Jadaka conquers more than just Wakanda
You stood behind Shuri, hands clammy and heart racing as everyone within the throne room waited for W’Kabi to bring this man in. This…outsider who claimed to have killed Klaue, the man who’d taken your parents’ lives. You had been just a baby when the explosion happened, only a month old, just barely settling into the world. You had never even gotten to know them, but you’d heard from numerous people, the late King T’Chaka and Queen Mother included, that they were great people.
It was Ramonda herself who’d made the decision to take you in, vowing to raise you as her own alongside T’Challa, and later, Shuri. You had been welcomed into the royal family with open arms, despite the fact that there were no blood ties to give you a more permanent place there. For the longest time, you were kind of just…there, still too young for them to decide what to do with you. It wasn’t until Shuri came along that you became something akin to a protector of sorts.
You were only eight years old when she was born, but you had been told that you went wherever baby Shuri went from the moment you first laid eyes on her. If she was being changed, you were right there, learning how. If she were being fed, you begged to do it too, wanting to take care of the girl you were convinced was still too tiny to be real. You only ever had T’Challa to play with growing up, and another girl in the house excited you. As the years went by, your “protector” title became more casual as the two of you grew to be just like sisters. The same could not be said of T’Challa.
Despite the fact that you had been raised in the household as if you were family, you could not look at T’Challa as a sister would a brother, no matter how much you tried. As the both of you grew and matured, you found yourself falling for the puppy-eyed young man. He was always your knight in shining armor, there for you whenever you needed him. You looked at him like he hung the moon, and he looked at you like he looked at Shuri. It broke your heart that he would never see you in the way you saw him, but it was a numb ache that you had grown to live with. Despite the fact that his heart would always belong to another, you still loved him and wanted nothing but the best for him.
Which was why, standing behind Shuri, eyes focused on T’Challa with something akin to anxiousness, the most awful feeling began to settle in the pit of your gut. You weren’t sure as to why, but you had a bad feeling about this outsider who was on the way to see the King at this very moment. Shuri often teased you about your gut feelings, her mind always focused on the rational and practical. Still, your feelings had never been wrong before, and in a panic, you began to pray.
Your eyes flew open as the doors slammed against the wall, W’Kabi striding inside alongside the man who you assumed was the outsider. You were still deep in thought, prayers and pleads clouding your mind before your eyes finally focused on what was in front of you. Your brown eyes lifted to land on the strange man, and you inhaled, body freezing as you took him in.
He stood slightly taller than W’Kabi, his frame wrapped in thick bands of muscle, the blue shirt pulling tightly around his arms. He stood proudly, like a warrior, and you resisted the urge to take a step back. His frame was tense, like a Cobra coiled to strike, just itching for a fight. His facial hair complimented his face, framing his lips and giving his otherwise baby face a dark countenance. His dark brown eyes were swirling with a myriad of emotions as he gazed around the room, neat locs falling onto his forehead, his scrutiny dangerous and hungry. Hungry for what, you did not know. Blood, violence, money?
You had seen many men in your life, but you had never seen a man like him before. Something about him was different, and that unnerved you. You blinked, and his eyes found yours then, something so carnal and savage lying in there that you were forced to look away. Your eyes landed on T’Challa like they always did, and unbeknownst you, this was your first mistake.
Your eyes never left his lithe frame as he moved towards the outsider, form taught with tension, their faces only a few inches from one another. Your heart hummed within your chest, not liking this man being in such close proximity to T’Challa, despite the fact that you knew he could protect himself. You watched with baited breath as the outsider lifted his head, eyes sweeping around the room before finally landing on you, eyes holding yours captive as he uttered the words that would ultimately destroy you;
“I want the throne!”
“C’mon T’Challa!”
Shuri’s words wrapped themselves around you before eventually falling away, clear that they weren’t being taken in. Your mouth was parted, eyes glassy as you fought to fathom what was happening in front of you. Zuri, a kind and old soul who you had enjoyed talking with on a regular basis, was dead. His prone form was face down in the water, the area around him darkening with his own blood. You reached out, wanting to find anything to hold on to, when feminine fingers intertwined with your own.
Your eyes briefly met Nakia’s, the love and fear you felt, reflected in her eyes as well. You looked away, heart overflowing with emotion, and she squeezed your hand. Did she know? It was a possibility. After all, women were usually perceptive about these kinds of things. Still, you welcomed her comfort nonetheless and returned the gesture, gently squeezing her hand as well.
You flinched as T’Challa collapsed again, Erik Killmonger’s form standing over him proudly.
“Is this ya King?” he shouted, teeth bared and eyes crazed.
When he uttered those words, declaring that he wanted the throne, everyone laughed. Everyone scoffed, everyone but you. That nauseating feeling wouldn’t go away, and when the truth was revealed, when Erik Killmonger confidently stated, in your native tongue no less, that he was N’Jakada, son of the late Prince N’Jobu, your heart sank. Now, your heart was lying in the water, being viciously beaten by the man whose challenge he accepted.
“Is this ya King? Huh? This is the King who supposed to lead you into the future?”
None of the other elders said a word. Beside you, Shuri and Queen Mother wept, and you could hear Nakia begging for T’Challa to get up. You silently did the same. You lost yourself for a moment, attempting to leap forward when N’Jakada lifted T’Challa over his shoulders. You would have fought him yourself, forgetting all about tradition, if Nakia had not been holding you back.
“No!”
The anguished cries that Queen Mother and Shuri released as N’Jakada threw T’Challa over the cliff’s edge resonated with you. Beside you, Nakia gasped, voice catching in her throat as you stumbled, her arms holding you up. N’Jakada slowly turned around, savoring his victory as his eyes roamed over those who came to witness the challenge. His eyes found yours again, something in them that your mind had yet to understand.
“Nah…I’m ya king.”
You watched, frozen as the Shaman unsteadily walked towards him, the victor’s necklace held within her trembling fingers. You were numb as he bent down just the slightest to allow her to pull it over his head, the teeth and claws resting gently over his scarred chest.
“(Y/N)! (Y/N)!”
It didn’t register that someone was calling your name nor that someone was pulling on your arm. Your eyes were focused ahead, your mind nothing but white noise as the pain finally hit you, and your face crumbled.
“We must go! (Y/N)!”
You finally turned your head, eyes catching Shuri and Nakia’s as they held their hands out towards you. You were thankful that you finally snapped out of your reverie…but it was too late.
“Don’t let that one get away…”
The wind carried his voice over to you, and foolishly, but rightfully so, you thought he was talking about Shuri. Your eyes widened as you looked at her, worried, only gasping when strong hands wrapped around you instead.
“Go,” you yelled to them as you struggled against the arms holding you captive.
Nakia hesitated, but Shuri eventually dragged her away as you continued to fight to get free. You knew that it was useless, despite how often you yourself had trained, you didn’t stand a chance against the Dora. It was clear that you were going back home, but for what, you did not know. You looked over your shoulder as they dragged you away, your terrified eyes clashing with the cold ones of King N’Jakada.
Your nails dug into the plush couch beneath you, mind buzzing with all sorts of thoughts as to why you were left waiting in the King’s chambers. You had only been in here once, and that was with Shuri when she’d decided to play a harmless prank on T’Challa. You smiled fondly at the memory, before the corners of your mouth fell, a tear skipping down your cheek once again.
T’Challa…
You loved him. You watched him grow, watched him mature and become the prince he was meant to be. You watched him laugh and love…and you watched him die. Your heart cried for the love that was lost, and you knew that whatever you felt, Nakia probably felt twice as hard. You let your head fall and cried for the both of you.
You only stopped when the door opened, and he entered the room. You swallowed, wary eyes resting on him as he strode along the plush carpet, intense gaze focused on you. He was dressed comfortably. A little too comfortably, you thought as your eyes quickly raked over his frame. He wore sweat pants, the ends of them brushing along the floor and his bare feet as he walked. His chest was left bare, showcasing the many scars that littered his upper body. Each one for a kill, he’d said, and the thought of someone killing that many people caused a shudder to breeze through you. A long black robe fell over his shoulders and arms, billowing behind him. The panther necklace, one of Shuri’s newer designs, rested just below his collarbone, and you looked away with a frown.
He didn’t deserve that. He wasn’t fit for it.
“You cook?” he suddenly asked, his foreign accent thick.
You turned your nose up and away from him as you replied.
“Not for you…”
He chuckled then, a menacing sound as he approached you.
“They tell me that you some kind of protector… Y’know, for the princess.”
Your jaw clenched.
“I was…yes.”
“Well, I expect you to do the same for me. I ain’t stupid. Everybody here ain’t down with what I’m tryna do and I’m not tryna sleep with one eye open,” he explained.
You scoffed, finally standing as you looked at him, eyes full of anger and sorrow.
“Do you take me for a fool?”
His grin was predatory as he reached out towards you, pushing your braids off of your shoulder. You trembled as his fingers grazed the bare skin of your shoulder, and you frowned.
“What could you possibly need a personal protector for? You have the entire Dora Milaje behind you. I am no fool…I know of men like you,” you said, taking a step back.
He sat on the couch that you were just occupying, legs spread and arms thrown over the back of it, his eyes never leaving you. He looked completely relaxed, and he was clearly making a point at you. You were not a threat.
“Tell me…what you know about ‘men like me’?”
You didn’t respond, and instead crossed your arms over your chest, just wishing that this was all a nightmare that you could wake up from.
“Why am I here? Why did you allow Queen Mother, Shuri, the princess, and a spy to escape, but demanded that I stay?”
He didn’t respond, dark eyes simply drinking you in as he tossed the question around in his head.
“Why do you think you here?”
You didn’t want to answer that, afraid that your guess would be true. He suddenly stood, heading towards the door behind you that held his bedroom, shoulders brushing yours as he went.
“Believe what you want, but you here because I want you here. You are whatever I say you are, and if I want you to be my personal protector, then that’s what the fuck you are.”
He glared at you over his shoulder, and you bit your tongue, determined to not respond when his fingers were suddenly grasping your chin. You winced, his grip tight enough to leave dark purple or black bruises as his nose brushed against yours.
“Got that shit?”
You nodded, eyes frantic as he suddenly let you go, his door slamming in your face.
Defiance. That was your next mistake.
As King N’Jakada reigned, you were never seen parted from his side. You stood beside the throne as he sat, going over his next course of action for the day. When he was eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you were in the seat to his right, eating alongside with him. Your room was located just outside of his chambers, and at night, you tried your best not to dwell on just how close he was. How easy it would be for him to wrap his hands around your neck and kill you with a snap of his fingers.
People had begun to whisper, judgmental eyes following your every move as you walked along the halls, eyes downcast. You weren’t stupid. You knew exactly what they were saying, and despite the fact that it wasn’t like that in the slightest, you could see how it could look that way. You were ordered to always wear something gold, and it wasn’t until recently that you realized it matched the gold on his Golden Jaguar suit. Yes, you could only imagine how this was all beginning to look. Still, it hurt your heart to know that they thought you could turn your back on T’Challa so easily.
You loved him. There had never been room in your heart for anyone else because T’Challa was all you saw, all that you wanted. What’s more, you could never even look at the man who had viciously taken him from you in that way. N’Jakada was a murderer, a tyrant. He’d burned the entire garden of heart shaped herbs, declaring that there would never be another king. He was single handedly ruining Wakanda’s entire way of life, and you were sick of it.
“I wanna go out. Meet and greet my people and shit…,” he said to you on a Wednesday evening.
You looked up at him from your place on the couch.
“…okay.”
The two of you stared at one another for quite some time before he raised an eyebrow, looking a cross between amused and annoyed.
“So you not gone get up?”
You sighed, almost huffing.
“I’m tired. I’m not feeling the best, and I would much rather just stay here and rest,” you replied.
“Well, that’s too bad. You’re my-.”
“We both know that is something I am in title only. You just wanted an excuse to keep me around,” you hissed, glaring up at him.
He grinned then, his gold fangs on display, glinting in the light. You swallowed at the predatory look in his eyes, body heating up with something you could not place.
“You smarter than you look.”
“I don’t want you,” you told him simply.
He seemed unbothered by your harsh rejection.
“You will,” he replied with the utmost confidence.
You found yourself getting angry now, and you stood, throwing your book at him. He easily dodged it, and his eyes grew darker as they focused on you.
“You’re a monster. You’re a murderer who-.”
“I didn’t make ya boy accept my challenge. He did that shit all on his own, and guess what? I beat that nigga fair and square. It wasn’t a murder, it was a defeat,” he spat through his teeth.
“You never even gave him a chance to yield!”
“That’s right! I came here for the throne, and he was in the way.”
You took a step back as he approached you.
“You don’t deserve the throne. You want to pillage and destroy and take lives. That is not what we are, that is not our way,” you found yourself pleading now.
“Maybe y’all need a new way,” he said.
“No! I don’t care what you say. You will never be fit to be King. You will never be my King. T’Challa-.”
“…Was a pussy. That’s what he was. He and all y’all other wack ass leaders just sat in that chair and didn’t do shit. Where were they when we was getting carted off in slave ships? Where they asses was at when my moms got shot? Huh?”
You sharply inhaled at the raw emotion in his voice, eyes the most vulnerable you had ever seen them. You looked away, taken aback before rubbing your arms.
“I cannot speak for past Kings, but T’Challa was different. Had he known, he would have helped you. You are his family…”
Your eyes met his, and a slow smirk danced along his lips.
“He was never gonna love you like you loved him,” he suddenly said.
Your eyes widened, and you swallowed, heart hammering inside of your chest. He bent down just a bit, tilting his head as he grinned at you.
“You think I’m stupid? I saw the way you was looking at him in that throne room. Barely even glanced at me, so quick to focus in on that nigga…”
“Shut up,” you whispered.
“That’s gotta hurt, though, huh? You thirstin’ after his ass, and he’s chasing after somebody else. He didn’t even have the balls to tell you that he didn’t feel the same way,” he continued.
“He didn’t know,” you quietly replied.
N’Jakada laughed then, a mocking sound, and you felt tears spring to your eyes.
“Oh, he knew. I can tell you that, right now. What man wouldn’t notice some pretty girl giving him googly eyes all the damn time? He was a pussy, plain and simple-.”
Your hand connected with his cheek just as the words barely escaped his mouth. Your lips trembled as he caught hold of your wrist, slamming your back into the wall.
“You will not speak of him in that way,” you gasped.
“I’ll say whatever I want about him. He’s gone, and he ain’t coming back. You better let that shit sink in,” he said.
His eyes ran over your face, and you turned your head away, refusing to look at him. Your eyelids fell closed as he leaned in, brushing his lips against the warm skin of your neck, teeth a hair’s width away.
“I’m your King, and when I’m finished with you, his name will be the farthest thing from your mind.”
Your last mistake was compassion.
You stood on the balcony, eyes roaming over Wakanda as another sob escaped you. You never liked crying. No one ever looked good when they cried, and your face always looked a puffy mess afterwards. Besides, in your eyes, crying held no purpose. It never solved anything, but these days, crying was all you seemed to do. You prayed that Shuri, Queen Mother, and Nakia were okay. You hoped that wherever they were, they were doing just fine.
You cried for them often, but you also cried for yourself. You could feel the hardness around your heart cracking the more you got to know N’Jakada. Sometimes you cried for him and the childhood he could have had, but didn’t. You wept for the life that was denied him and often wondered how he might have turned out. King T’Chaka had been a great father and a wonderful husband, but was he a great king? W’Kabi seemed more pleased with N’Jakada than he ever did with T’Chaka.
You sighed, accepting that N’Jakada on the throne, was perhaps a way of the universe trying to right a wrong. You just wished that T’Challa hadn’t been collateral damage in the process. You wrapped your arms around yourself, ashamed at the hatred that began to grow in your heart for the late King T’Chaka. There was so much that he could have done differently, but he didn’t. His actions had created a monster, and it seemed that you were destined to reap the horrors of said monster.
Your bare chests brushed together as he ground his hips against your aching center, a moan escaping your lips and into the room. He repeated the action more aggressively, his locs tickling your forehead as he did so.
“Fuck,” he hissed, his head buried in your neck.
Your nails ran down his back, N’Jadaka peppering kisses into your shoulder as you tightened your legs around him, bucking your hips. His hand slipped underneath your thighs then, hooking your knees underneath his arms as he pressed them into the mattress, his chest flush with yours.
Your eyes slammed shut, lips parted, a moan ripping from within your chest as you wrapped around him like a glove. The bed knocked into the wall, the room filling with the sounds of your whimpers and his occasional grunts.
His hips were rolling into your own, rising and falling, and you could feel his eyes on you as yours fell shut, head pressed into the pillows, toes curling.
“Look at me, (Y/N),” he purred.
Your eyes fluttered open with some difficulty, focusing on him. His teeth were sunk into his bottom lip, eyes unwavering as they bore into your own. He suddenly released his lip, letting out a groan. It was a struggle to keep your eyes open, fingers tightening around his own as you clenched around him.
One of his hands released you, finding rest on your neck as his thumb pressed against your skin. He bit into your neck, the mixture of pain and pleasure going straight to your core. Your hand slipped on his shoulder, nails digging into his skin as you hissed his name. Your skin was slick with sweat, bodies gliding against each other between the silken sheets.
“N’Jadaka,” you groaned, teeth clenched as he tightened his hand around your throat.
“Who’s your king?”
“You,” you moaned, unaware of the words escaping your lips.
“What’s my name,” he demanded.
“N-.”
You let out a gasp as he slammed your hips into the bed, gold teeth glinting in the low light.
“What’s my name?”
“Erik,” you hissed, nails no doubt leaving bloody trails down his back.
You lifted your head, teeth nipping at his neck as you rocked back and forth from the force of his thrusts, hands tangled into his hair. His nose brushed against yours as he snapped his hips, and you shuddered. His lips grazed yours, breaths intermingling as his eyes bore into your own.
“C’mon baby,” he whispered.
The last thread of control slipped as your back arched. You were a crumbled mess beneath him, feet pressing into the mattress as he continued to thrust into you. He came with a vengeance, sinking his teeth into your neck. He thrust into you a few more times, the two of you riding out the wave together before he collapsed onto you, his teeth still embedded into your skin.
Your heart screamed as you gave yourself to him, something you’d never done for anyone else. He’d taken the love of your life, he’d taken the throne, and he’d taken Wakanda. Never did you think, he would take you too.

Hi darling. I've recently become aware that my heart chakra is still clinging onto old toxic energy. I'm working on opening my heart again, do you have any advice or recommended mantras that I could try? I have a hard time healing my inner wounded child.
Hello my dear,
Thank you for reaching out. Just know you are not alone. It is not unusual to feel blocked in this area. Especially in such times as now as we are growing into a new age. The heart chakra is the integrator of mind, body and innermost home of the spirit. A window into our most honest self. It teaches us about the world and is the centre of feeling for your emotions.
There are two ways your chakra can be out of balance seeing as I am not sure if you your heart chakra is over-active or under-active I will explain both to see which one you resonate with the most.
Over-active: (excessive energy) You let emotions such as sadness, anger, despair, greed, irritability, jealousy, happiness control you. Manipulative with the use of ultimatums, afraid you will not be accepted by society, letting people walk all over you, co-dependency, moody, stubborn, unable to find your centre etc
Under-active: (insufficient energy) can cause you to be very negative in your thinking and you may find it very difficult to keep a positive outlook on life. You may feel unloved, unworthy and unappreciated and this can manifest in beliefs such as you are unworthy and undeserving. You will probably keep your heart at a distance and have difficulty trusting others motives and experience fear, guilt and sorrow. Feeling trapped is another reoccurring theme I seem to find.
If the heart chakra is overactive we will have no sense of self projecting yourself as defensive and negative towards the people and the world around us. Once this chakra is truly balanced you will be kind, caring, understanding, joyous, outgoing, feeling completely at ease with yourself and the people in your life. You will understand and accept others for who they are, you will not be judgement or critical of their actions. You will be happy with your own company and seek some time alone, you will not feel the need to be rushing from one relationship to another preferring to wait for the “right” one having the faith that when the time is right that relationship will come. You will have a great compassion for all living creatures and will recognise their uniqueness and their amazing intelligence. The energy of Anahata (heart chakra) allows us to recognise that we are part of something larger, that we are interconnected within an intricate web of relationships extending through life and the universe.
Now, there are many things we can do to balance your heart chakra. Firstly be committed and put yourself first as honouring yourself to heal your wounded child archetype may take some time. Research the chakras and the wounded child archetype in your spare time so you can make links and connections to better your healing process. You can try: http://susannabarlow.com/on-archetypes/understanding-the-wounded-child-archetype/
We can connect to the heart chakra through the colour green and pink, connecting with nature, the element of air, healing crystals, essential oils, sound therapy through frequency, solfeggio, binaural beats, isochronic tones crystal bowls, tibetan singing bowls, healing foods, meditation, Pranayama through yoga, reiki, affirmations, furthering your knowledge and of course compassion. I will now share as many tips as I can for you.
HEART CHAKRA EXERCISE
I would like to share an exercise I learned through a healing school designed to expand the heart in all directions. Sitting in a comfortable meditation posture with spine erect, (either on the floor in an easy cross legged position, on a chair with feet touching the floor or laying down), close your eyes and tune into your heart. If you can, feel your heartbeat. First begin gently breathing in and out getting a slow steady rhythm. Then imagine that you are inhaling in the left side (receptive) and expanding your heart out to the left. Take a few breaths here, then imagine expanding your heart to the right side (expressive) and feel your heart space widening. Then breathe into the bottom of your heart, deepening your compassion, for self and others. After a few breaths here, imagine you are breathing into the top of your heart, lifting the heart to blossom into the shoulders. Finally inhale, pushing your heart energy forward, out in the world. Repeat this exercise 3 – 4 times. As frequent as possible.
There are also many guided meditations you can access through youtube by just searching heart chakra guided meditations. I usually throw one of these on when I am alone, travelling or before I go to bed.
BALANCING STONES
Amazonite
Known as a “feel better stone”, Amazonite is so effective because it aligns the Heart Chakra on the physical and astral planes. The recognition of this unity on a soul level is inherently soothing and fills the Heart Chakra with positive energy.
Aventurine
Aventurine is a wonderful stone for enhancing leadership qualities. It reduces stress and promotes relaxation, but also motivates and encourages decisions to be made from the heart.
Bloodstone
Often associated with the Root (or Base) Chakra, Bloodstone is also excellent for the Heart Chakra. The stone of the “spiritual warrior”, it brings steadiness, courage, and solace to your heart.
Dioptase
The positive and uplifting energy of Dioptase is wonderful for promoting love and compassion. It also makes Dioptase excellent for healing any wounds to the heart.
Emerald
One of the most well-known crystals, Emerald subtly brings harmony to the emotional heart. By opening up the user’s sensitivity, it allows them to have patience, honesty, and understanding with themselves instead of focusing negative emotions inwards.
Malachite
One of the most calming Heart Chakra crystals to deal with, Malachite is excellent at balancing tumultuous emotions and energies within the Heart Chakra. Known for uplifting spirits, it makes all types of transitions easier.
Peridot
Peridot has a very light and vibrant energy. Known for protecting the Heart Chakra, it also cleanses the heart of negative emotions and brings optimism to the user.
Rhodochrosite
Rhodochrosite is fantastic for connecting you to your inner child. It brings love and compassion for yourself, courage, and creativity so you can experience the wonders and mystery of the world as children do.
Rose Quartz
Rose Quartz has some of the gentlest energy for Heart Chakras. It enhances love on all levels (self, familial, romantic, and platonic) and diminishes the effect of negative emotions, especially towards yourself.
Unakite
With a strong but gentle energy, Unakite helps strengthen your Heart Chakra. It is best at removing emotional blockages from your heart, making it an excellent crystal to help you through any form of grief.
ESSENTIAL OILS
Jasmine
Lavender
Rose
Chamomile
Ylang-Ylang
Frankincense
Melissa
Neroli
****Please contact me if you are unsure how to use essential oils and are on medication or pregnant before using***
SOUND THERAPY
Mantra - ’YAM’ pronounced YAAAAAM
Here is a link to meditation for correct pronunciation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5h7aDfDmjI
You may find a better connection if you combine the heart chakra mudra whilst meditating.
If you have access to crystal or tibetan bowls I find concentrating on the place you wish to be healed while playing with the sounds of the bowl can be quite powerful.
Listen to frequencies associated with each chakra whilst asleep can help also. I will let you search and resonate with each track but if you would like somewhere to start I frequently use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6sbrmcrSuo.
HEALING FOODS/TEA/HERBS
Leafy green/air vegetables such as Spinach, kale, dandelion greens, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, celery and squash.
Green tea, lemon balm, hawthorn, rose petal, rose hip, raspberry leaf, basil, sage, thyme, cilantro, parsley.
Listen to your body when it comes to food. It will tell you want it needs.
YOGA POSES
Bhujangasana (Cobra)
Janushirsana (Forward bend)
Matsyasana (Fish)
AFFIRMATIONS
Write these down and put them where you can see them everyday whether it be in your room, mirror of the bathroom, your car, your desk, everywhere you can! Believe in what you are saying.
I am open to love.
All love resides within my heart.
I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
I nurture my inner child.
I am wanted and loved.
I live in balance, in a state of gracefulness and gratitude.
I love the beauty of nature and the animal world.
I forgive myself.
I am open to love and kindness.
I am grateful for all the challenges that helped me to transform and open up to love.
I am connected with other human beings.
I feel a sense of unity with nature and animals.
I accept things as they are.
I am peaceful.
OTHER EXERCISES to look into
Solar gazing helped open my heart up immensely. May be called “sun gazing” in other countries. Practise compassion. Random acts of kindness. Respecting yourself enough to know your worth. Practise being that person you’ve always wanted to be. Give love and time to yourself so you can share it to others. Be raw and kind and let yourself live in the absence of fear.
You’re going to be okay!! You are love and are loved.
Please feel free to message or email me off anon if you wish to talk through any of the above information. Or if you need more information on handling stress, I am always available to those who seek self healing. I apologise if I have missed anything. Please let me know if this has been helpful.
Love & light,
J

MIKEY’S PERSONAL BLOG 149, March 2019
On Monday night, I attended a HIIT small group training session with CinFull Fitness. Today had been a very manic day for me with an appointment with my support worker followed by an appointment with my occupational therapist. My first mistake was not having a proper lunch. I just threw together an apple, handful of nuts and white chocolate. My mind was clearly on other things plus my energy levels weren’t the best either. I did attempt to nap in the afternoon which helped a little.
It was a packed class tonight with a couple of new clients starting out. There was lots of positive vibes and jokes being made as usual. But something felt really off with me and I couldn’t explain it. We started by doing several rounds of 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off exercises including: Mountain climbers, Step jumps, Kettle bell swings, Kettle bell squats, Sit-ups, Push ups, Ball Slams and Star jumps.
Next we did 45 seconds on, 15 seconds off exercises including: TRX rows, Single Lunges with 5kg plate, Barbell Bicep Curls and V-Ups with 5kg plate. I did feel nauseous at several points during the session plus tired, lethargic, out of breath and shaking. I tried not to panic about it but I could tell that I was struggling more than usual tonight. Most likely I just didn’t eat enough during the day to fuel my body for tonight’s workout session.
Otherwise, it was a good session. I think I’ll always have a quiet and reserved personality but that’s alright with me. When it comes to the gym environment, I’m mainly just focused on doing the exercises and socialisation takes a back seat. And yet I do feel included within this group even with new members joining all the time and regulars who are tight knit.
On Tuesday morning, I went down to the Frankston Intergrated Health Centre to book an appointment time for an overnight sleep study. The clinic located off Hastings Road was an area of Frankston that I’m not familiar with at all so naturally I had the Google Maps lady activated. I managed to find some parking down William Street and discovered the nearby park George Pentland Botanic Gardens. I’m a visual learner and so I need to see things in the flesh so that navigating unknown territory becomes easier. Hence why I decided to make the trip down in person. https://www.peninsulahealth.org.au/services/services-f-m/medical-services/respiratory-services/
Ironically, as I was making my way down to the clinic on foot, I got an unknown caller ringing my phone. I answered and it happened to be a receptionist from the same clinic I was walking towards. It was a relief to finally get a time booked in and squash my phone anxiety at the same time. Plus it was a lovely drive down to this part of Frankston. I decided to explore the Botanical Gardens while I was down here. It features a magnificent lake, playground, BBQ area, walking tracks and rainforest plants. https://www.frankston.vic.gov.au/Things_To_Do/Parks_and_Reserves/Frankston/George_Pentland_Botanic_Gardens
On Tuesday night, I went to a Body Balance class with Astrid at YMCA Casey RACE in Cranbourne East. Tonight we worked through release number 72 which features the tracks Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde, Real Life by The Weeknd, Take Me To Church by Hoizer and Freedom by Pharrell Williams. It was a challenging class particularly during the core and pilates tracks with many intense movements and strong holds but it felt satisfying getting through it.
The exercises that we did tonight include: Tai Chi Warm-up (Forward Fold, Extended Mountain Pose, Tai Chi Scoop), Sun Salutations (Down Dog, Plank to Crocodile pose, Baby Cobra, Knee Lift, Aeroplane pose, Lunge twist), Standing Strength (Intense pose, Warrior 2, Sun Warrior), Balance (Angel pose, Flower pose sequence), Hip Openers (Extended Swan pose, Modified Half Lotus with Side Bend).
Core Abdominals (Pilates Abdominal curl, Cross Crawl Sequence, Scissor Legs), Core Back (3 Legged Dog, Side Hover Sequence, Bow pose, Camel pose, Child’s pose), Twists (Seated Star twist, Tabletop twist, Horse Stance twist), Forward Bends Hamstrings (Eagle Twist Arms sequence, Flat Back Extend, Hindi Squat, Supine Hamstring Stretch). https://watch.lesmillsondemand.com/bodybalance/videos/2016-1-bodybalance-72-55-min-lmod
On Thursday night, I attended my Young Adults social group event held at Power Neighbourhood House in Ashwood. After our previous head office at The Nerve Centre in Blackburn got sold late last year, Aspergers Victoria had to quickly find us a “new home”. The fact that it happens to be this venue is both ironic and nostalgic. I spent several years during my childhood at The Power House joining in art and craft activities, morning teas and fetes with my Mum. We also used to live in one of the flats on Power Avenue for a time.
My biggest curiosity was seeing how much this building has changed since I last visited. The interiors are largely the same with narrow hallways, several office spaces, a kitchenette, an ambulant friendly toilet and library/reading room. The exterior is now painted in a soft muted grey colour instead of the warm sand yellow colour it used to be. Plus some mosaic artworks have been hung on the front facade.
The most dramatic change is the addition of the decking area with expands out behind the main building and surrounds the detached recreation room located in the back right hand corner. There’s also been several cosmetic changes made to update the look of the building but I feel like the core of The Power House remains. I spent most of my time taking in my surroundings, being friendly, smiling and saying hello.
It’s the equivalent of adjusting to a boiling hot bath. Initially it’s extremely overwhelming taking in a social setting but gradually it gets easier and more comfortable. I decided to play a game of Cabo, a cross between Uno and Memory, with Lucas plus new members Yoshi (yes like the video game character) and Sean. It was surprisingly easy to pick up and understand the rules even though I was confused at the start.
Later I decided to grab a sausage in bread outside and started to mingle and socialise a little. It’ll always be a daunting task for me to make small talk with others but hey at least I was joining in, active listening and trying the best that I could. I met Georgia and Christian who were in my immediate circle, though breaking the ice proved to be a challenge. I think as Aspies this is the area we all have the most difficulty with. There’s no way I could judge others for being wallflowers or simply not participating in conversation because I find it damn hard as well.
I know exactly what it feels like to be debilitated by anxiety or not being certain of social cues or how to make conversation. And yet there’s a sense of ease being surrounded by others who are also on the Autism Spectrum. It’s a level of understanding and compassion that is unspoken because we’re all in the same boat together. It feels empowering to be a part of this group and to be putting myself out there. https://aspergersvic.org.au/events-groups
“I tell you, wake up. You people need a shake up. You take up so much time. Worrying, scurrying. Here, there. Losing your hair. No money to spare. No love to share. No wonder you appear under pressure from here.” Faithless - Not Enuff Love (2001)
“When there's no where, left to run to . Let me come to you, let me help you down. For when the world, gives you tomorrow. Your gonna learn to live again. We can learn to go, oh learn as we go. Just to live, for the day. I know it's hard, to live for the moment. Just try, anyway.” Faithless feat. Zoe Johnston - Liontamer (2001)

Christian Slater returns to the West End as smooth talking sales shark Ricky Roma, in David Mamet’s cult classic Glengarry Glen Ross. Alongside A Killer Sales Team: Robert Glenister as Dave Moss, Kris Marshall as John Williamson, Stanley Townsend as Shelley ‘The Machine’ Levene and Don Warrington as George Aaronow.
Christian Slater (Mr Robot, True Romance, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), Robert Glenister (Hustle, Spooks), Kris Marshall (Death in Paradise, Love Actually, My Family), Stanley Townsend (Girl from the North Country, The Nether) and Don Warrington (Death in Paradise, Rising Damp) are the ‘deal chasing’ cut-throat sales team in David Mamet’s masterpiece, Glengarry Glen Ross.
This trailblazing modern classic, directed by Sam Yates, runs at the Playhouse Theatre from 26 October to 3 February 2018 for a strictly limited 14-week season. The play has won every major dramatic award on both sides of the Atlantic, making it an extraordinary theatrical success story. Its sensational world premiere at the National Theatre in 1983, earned it the Olivier Award for Best Play, whilst its 1984 Broadway premiere garnered multiple Tony Award nominations and just a year later, it won the Pulitzer Award for Drama. In 1992 the play was adapted by Mamet into an Academy Award nominated film featuring an all-star cast including Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin, Kevin Spacey and Jonathan Pryce.
At a time of fierce debate about the American Dream and what it represents, Glengarry Glen Ross is a lacerating satire for modern society, highlighting how economic austerity can affect the morality and greed of individuals under financial pressure.
Glengarry Glen Ross is produced by ATG Productions, Act Productions and Glass Half Full Productions.
Lies. Greed. Corruption. It’s business as usual. Set in an office of cut-throat Chicago salesmen. Pitched in a high-stakes competition against each other, four increasingly desperate employees will do anything, legal or otherwise, to sell the most real estate. As time and luck start to run out, the mantra is simple: close the deal and you’ve won a Cadillac; blow the lead and you’re f****d.
Christian Slater (Ricky Roma) is an internationally acclaimed actor who recently won a Golden Globe and Critic’s Choice award for his role in Mr Robot, for which he is also a producer.

How does Yoga help in Weight Loss?
Yoga help in Weight LossWeight LossHello everyone. Hope you all are fit and healthy and wish the same for you all always. In one of our earlier topics we have discussed about Yoga, its types and the benefits which are derived out of it. Now today under this topic we will discuss how a person can lose weight through Yoga and can stay healthy. Yoga is an ancient form of exercise and way of living that focuses on your mind, body and soul. It’s a holistic practice for all ages. The word ‘Yoga’ has been derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yug’ which refers to the union of our individual consciousness and the universal consciousness. Yoga is not a religion. It is a science, science of well-being, science of youthfulness, science of integrating body, mind and soul. Yoga is an ancient Indian practice which is associated not just with the physical well-being of the body but with the overall health of a human being. I see yoga as a holistic package, which unlike other physical activities aims at cleansing and rejuvenating the human body from outside as well as within. If one adopts the practice as a part of everyday routine, one can actually feel the difference – mentally, physically as well spiritually. And as an added bonus, it can bring about weight loss too. Let’s discuss about it further in our topic.
Yoga is a known stress buster, but it’s also one of the most effective workouts for fighting stubborn fat stores, especially the ones that crop up after age 40. Yes, definitely a person can use yoga for weight loss. The reason: Studies show that yoga lowers levels of stress hormones and increases insulin sensitivity—a signal to the body to burn food as fuel rather than store it as a fat. Well to get a kick start, some of the asanas could be very helpful in toning the body and lose weight. To name few of them are Surya Namaskar, Veerabhadrasana, Trikonasana, Purvottanasana, Naavasana and Pulasana. Let’s discuss these in detail below.
How does Yoga help in Weight Loss ?
Surya Namaskar: One of the basic, most well-known and widely practiced asanas, surya namaskar is literally meant like to submit yourself in front of the sun or in general if we translate it, it means sun salutation. It comprises a series of twelve different yoga poses that focus on various parts of body. What makes surya namaskar great for the entire body is the fact that it involves twelve different poses encompassed in one – for example, basic prayer pose, forward bend and the bhujangasana (cobra pose). According to various experts surya namaskar is a great way to keep the body active as it helps in exercising all possible areas of the body. It helps in strengthening the skeletal system including the ligaments and also aids in easing stress and anxiety from the human body.
Veerabhadrasana: It is also called as the warrior pose. It involves going into the mountain pose, followed by stretching one of the legs back and with the other leg going into a lunge like position with the knee at a ninety degree positioning and the hands stretched right above the head. A person can take this further by practicing this pose in another manner wherein a person brings the hands in front of the chest and straighten the stretched leg, pointing it outwards while the other leg is still at ninety degrees and the person’s both arms are stretched out wide apart.
Trikonasana: It is also called as the Triangular pose. This pose is started with a wide legged stance by turning the right foot out. Post that stretch the arms out, wide open pushing the right side of the waistline over the right leg and slowly go down, facing downwards with a flat back. By keeping the right palm on the ground (A person can choose to keep it in front of their right foot or behind it) or on a block with the left arm stretched upwards. Once this is performed, then repeat it from the other side. This asana works on the sides of the body, arms and thighs, thus giving a feeling of rejuvenating and burning of fat from these three parts.
Purvottanasana: It is also called as the upward plank exercise or pose. This may seem a bit difficult to crack towards the start but the results that this asana yield will leave a person much grateful. This works extensively on the back, shoulders, arms, spine, wrists and fortifies muscles. This kind of asana is also great for the respiratory system. It is great for the core strength of the body as it works on the legs, inner thigh muscles as wells as hips. Under this kind of pose, a person needs to sit with their legs stretched in front of them. Then post that put their hands behind their hips pointing towards their feet. After that now, point the feet and then prepare the body to rise up. Raise the body from the tailbone and try pulling the head back as well. It is the exact opposite of the position which a person gets in just before preparing for a conventional push up.
Naavasana: It is also called as the Boat pose. In this pose a person lies down on their back and as the name suggests goes in to a V shaped position resembling a boat. A person in such position should try holding the position for 10 seconds to begin with and increase the time with every passing day. Once performed this on daily basis, this will help a person in feeling their stomach muscles going for a toss and will help in killing that stubborn belly fat.
Pulasana: It is also called as the Bridge pose. Under this pose a person needs to lie down on their back with their hands stretched sideways and then need to fold their knees, spread them out and then raise the body up from the pelvis area. If a person require, then they can take support from their hands to hold the position. This pose works wonderfully on the hips, thighs, stomach as well as back. Physical exercise has always been held important for the overall well-being as well as to keep health related troubles at end but it should always be kept in mind that any form of physical activity will remain futile and unproductive if not teamed with proper diet.
Apart from these there are many asanas which can be penned down to reduce weight, but if we practice diligently the above mentioned poses in a well manner, then I can bet you all that the result would definitely surprise you. However, still the result would vary from person to person, but in reality it would make some kind of difference. Hence taking adios and would be soon back with one more topic which would be beneficial for all of you.
Will keep you updated on Latest Health News at Brisk News.

MIKEY’S PERSONAL BLOG 135, December 2018
Last Saturday night, I attended the CinFull Fitness Christmas break-up held at The Main Cafe Bar Restaurant in Berwick. Considering that I had to work for 9 hours and quickly got myself changed after work (into an ugly Christmas sweater of course), I was amazed at how “awake” I was. The restaurant was a lot more fully booked than I expected and I could tell that the staff were flat off their feet. I easily found the table that Cinamon booked for us so I just decided to walk on over.
The sad reality is that I hardly ever go out socially so tonight I was making the most of it. Still, I was being sensible with my alcohol intake especially when I had to get up early for work the next day. Cinamon made up these cute little gift bags with a personalised name tag, each containing some bath bombs and choccies. It was a really sweet and thoughtful gesture. I decided to order the poached chicken with chips, which ironically was the first meal to arrive considering I got there a bit late.
Even though social situations will continue to be a challenge for me, I was doing my best simply tuning into the conversations happening around me. As I’ve stated before in previous blogs, it takes a while for me to be comfortable enough to open up about myself to people. I guess it’s a self-defensive mechanism of mine, being cautious about who I trust and trying my best not to get hurt. I’m certainly not a closed book either, simply just shy and reserved.
I could also tell that these girls (and guy) were all pretty relaxed around me. That actually puts me at ease because I know girls can have preconceived notions about men but the truth is that they have nothing to fear. I try to be the most easy going, friendly, caring, humble man because that’s my nature. We did have plenty of laughs and somehow I managed to stay for over 2 hours, which is a pretty big achievement for me.
I didn’t even need to rush over to the toilet once (for a mental regroup) so that shows my progress with being in social situations. I enjoyed my night and I’m really looking forward to smashing more fitness and confidence goals in 2019 with CinFull Fitness.
On Monday afternoon, I had an appointment with my occupational therapist Ambika from Everyday Independence. I was feeling a bit nervous and apprehensive today as I really didn’t know what I’d be in for. I did my best to create a calming, relaxed space in the dining room with my folder full of notes, a notepad, glass of water and radio playing softly in the background. At least I could say that I was physically prepared for this.
The appointment seemed to go pretty smoothly as Ambika gauged what I needed assistance with at home and together we put together a helpful weekly planner to add household chores to including cooking, cleaning, dusting vacuuming, sweeping, wiping certain rooms of the house. She also made it realistic and manageable, considering I don’t do many of these tasks currently, in order to build up motivation and confidence gradually.
She’s set me the task of preparing my own recipe for dinner including writing out a shopping list and buying all the ingredients. Sounds simple enough, it’s just the “doing” part now. Ambika also recommended a few apps I could use to help with moods, coping strategies for stress and anxiety as well as daily planning and checklists. These are Daylio - Diary, Journal and Mood Tracker, Headspace: Meditation and Mindfulness and Google Keep - Notes & Lists.
On Monday night, I attended my last Boxing class for the year with Cinamon Guerin at CinFull Fitness in Narre Warren South. It’s hard to believe that it’s been five months since I’ve joined this group and I can definitely see the improvements I’ve made with my confidence, focus, determination and drive. I’ve always been slow to warm up when it comes to learning boxing techniques and combos but it doesn’t take me long before I’ve “got it”. https://www.expertboxing.com/boxing-basics/how-to-box/the-beginners-guide-to-boxing
It was just a couple of us tonight (Sam, Sarah and myself) but I was content with that. I was actually worried that I wouldn’t get there on time with all the local peak-hour traffic making me run late but I made it. We did some EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute) drills which involved 10 jabs, 20 uppercuts, 30 highs and 40 hooks plus 4 side to side straddles, 10 star jumps, a squat hold and 10 V-crunches. Plus some continuous walking combos which made us all laugh.
I’m hoping that in the new year, I’ll be able to come to classes more regularly and even stick around for a “double” one time. But right now I know my limits in terms of physical fitness. It’s something I need to continue to work on so that I don’t get as tired or fatigued as often. It’s about forming better habits and smashing through goals gradually. It doesn’t matter how many times I go off track, I’m going to keep bringing myself back.
On Tuesday morning, Mum and I attended the City of Casey - School Crossing Supervisor’s Christmas social function held at Zagame's Berwick Hotel. Switching the venue from last year’s event at the Lynbrook Hotel to here seemed like a good idea on paper considering how large the turnout was. Sadly, they still ran into a few problems such as using a “random bingo number” system to organise everyone’s meal orders. It was chaotic and messy to say the least especially with Sonya having to yell out the numbers instead of using a microphone. Going table by table would have been much more efficient but never mind.
We were lucky to sit in a comfy circular booth near the rear of the Sports Bar with Mum’s friend Val plus Kay and Ray. They put on a Morning Melodies performance for an hour, playing a mixture of Christmas songs (Hark Now Hear The Angels Sing, Blue Christmas, Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree) and a few classics including ABBA’s Dancing Queen and Honey Honey, You’re The One That I Want by John Travolta & Olivia Newton John and Sugar, Honey Honey by The Archies.
After the drama with the main meals was over, Dreena (the School Crossing Co-ordinator) announced a few years of service awards and drew out some door prizes. Mum was lucky enough to win one which I was very pleased about. As expected, I got asked the question of what I’ll be doing next year. I always find it really daunting and hard answering because I never really know myself. I’ve lived this year pretty much day to day.
It’s like people expect you to have your life mapped out for the next 5-10 years but in reality, I’m lucky to plan a month in advance. However, I am considering enroling in one of the free TAFE courses such as the Certificate IV in Mental Health as I have personal experience as well as a keen interest in that area. Plus I still have a burning passion for creative writing including blogs and music/movie reviews and also getting back into art again. So there you go. Hopefully that’s a satisfying enough answer for those wondering.
On Tuesday night, I went to the final Body Balance class for 2018 with Astrid held at YMCA Casey RACE in Cranbourne East. I was still feeling very tense through my upper back and shoulders after my boxing session last night so I figured some yoga and pilates stretches should help with that. We did the new release (number 83) which features tracks including Towards The Sun by Rhianna, Die Young by Sylvan Esso, There She Goes by Leon Bridges, I Need a Forest Fire by James Blake & Bon Iver. https://www.lesmills.com/workouts/fitness-classes/bodybalance/#facType=modal&filterType=0&classes=bb
Overall, this wasn’t a bad release. The balance tracks and Pilates were the most challenging parts for me but I did what I could given my limitations. Here is a breakdown of the exercises: Tai Chi Warm Up (Overhead arm circles, Flowing Water arms), Sun Salutations (Forward Fold, Low Lunge, Downward Facing Dog, Plank, Crocodile, Baby Cobra), Standing Strength (Warrior 1, Warrior 2, Joyful Warrior, Intense Pose), Balance (Half Moon pose, Falling Star pose), Pilates Core (Foot circles, V-crunches, Bicycle crunches, Bow pose), Twists and Seated Poses (Swan pose, Wide Legged Forward Fold with Side Stretches, Half Lord of the Fishes pose), Hamstrings (Butterfly pose, Happy Baby pose) and Relaxation. https://www.livestrong.com/article/39660-body-balance-class/
On Friday morning, I had my first appointment with a speech pathologist named Amon from Everyday Independence. Was it going to be like the opening scene from Everybody Loves Raymond? (THEY’RE COMING! Come and sing a song of joy!). Probably not. That’s just my anxiety trying hard to freak me out. New person alert. Oh shit! It’s something I need to seriously confront in order to gain more self confidence really. And the reality is that he’s here to help me. https://www.everydayind.com.au/our-therapies/speech-pathology/
Today’s assessment involved being asked a lot of scerario-based questions related to my communication skills and how I talk with people I know and people I’m not familiar with. It was pretty difficult and confronting at times especially the part on making conversation. This is an area where I have huge issues and a lot of sensitivity about ever since my childhood. Plus it’s really draining answering questions for 1.5 hours. https://www.everydayind.com.au/therapy/communications-skills/
Luckily, Amon was very friendly and easy going. It was just tough coming up with decent answers like how I respond in certain situations and trying to remember specific examples of times when this happened. When you’re in a brain fog or you simply can’t come up with anything, it’s embarrassing as. But Amon was quite patient during these awkward silences and didn’t push me too hard.
We also came up with a couple of goals to work towards over the next 12 months. This includes: Being more confident and using strategies to make conversation with others, especially people that I’m not familiar with. Developing friendships with people I feel comfortable with and be able to spend time socially with in the future. I rated my level of importance has high for both of these goals. Hopefully 2019 will be a more successful year for me in terms of achieving more self-confidence and better communication.
“The cold wind is blowin' and the streets are getting dark. I'm writin' you a letter and I don't know where to start. The bells will be ringin' Saint John the Divine. I get a little lonely every year around this time...I've got to know (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas). Where do the lonely hearts go (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas). Oh cause' nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas.” Darlene Love - All Alone On Christmas (1992)
“All around the world. Anticipation. 'Cause here it comes again (you see). No matter where you are. It could be near or far. But it still feels like Christmas time to me. I tell you what you already know. Forget and ready to let it go. The countdown has begun. Whether you're in the mmh. North, South, it's all the same. Let your troubles fade away. Get ready to love everyone.” Kylie Minogue & Dannii Minogue - 100 Degrees (2015)
